Re/think helps The Sparkle Foundation change lives in Africa
Creating brighter futures in Malawi, together
Re/think, the award-winning UAE business advisory and outsourced services firm, is proud to announce that the firm is supporting The Sparkle Foundation (Sparkle), the UAE-registered charity dedicated to changing lives through education, nutrition, healthcare, and community programmes in Malawi and across Africa. Its vision: is to create a future in which every community has equal opportunity to live a life of health and self-sufficiency.
A grassroots charity also registered in the UK, Malawi, and the US, Sparkle takes a holistic approach to child welfare for hundreds of orphans and vulnerable children in 17 villages near Zomba, Malawi. The country is one of the world’s poorest and is facing a hunger crisis – one in five children do not make it to their fifth birthday. Sparkle’s goal is to find sustainable methods to generate food and income for these children’s communities over the next three years. The foundation has pioneered a blueprint model for community engagement programmes recognised by the President of Malawi.
As part of Re/think’s wider commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and to contributing to local and international communities, the firm’s Managing Partner Gregory Shippee has joined the Sparkle Advisory Board to support and promote Sparkle’s strategy and fundraising efforts. In addition, Re/think will provide CFO advisory, budget and forecast, and accounting review and training services to Sparkle.
Re/think is also supporting Sparkle’s efforts to impact another 5,000 lives by participating in this year’s Sparkle Gala 2024 on 23 November at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai – a VIP-invite-only fundraising event where UAE business leaders, purpose-driven corporates, and philanthropists unite to make real change. The Sparkle Gala 2024 aims to raise AED 1.5 million to buy land on which to develop a fourth site in Malawi and replicate their successful sustainable model.
Gregory Shippee, Managing Partner of Re/think, commented: “Re/think is honoured to be able to support The Sparkle Foundation to help transform lives and create brighter futures for vulnerable children and their communities in Malawi. They have changed 20,000 lives to date and we invite our families, friends, colleagues, clients, peers, and all those who are passionate about making a positive impact in the world to join us as changemakers.”
